MY 90 DAY CHALLENGE

No, it's not the "Body by Vi" 90 day challenge...it's the "BODY BY FAITH" 90 DAY CHALLENGE! I know there are lots of folks out there that have had success with trendy weight loss plans, but my personal challenge is all about eating REAL food (mostly Paleo), exercising, drinking plenty of water, getting enough sleep and putting my faith in God. I have some challenges to overcome and I know with God's help I can defeat those enemies and meet my goals.

I discovered so much about myself during the "40 Days of Discovery" (Lent), that I've decided to intensify my spiritual journey the next 3 months and see where it leads me!

Some of my goals are:
  • daily devotion with emphasis on prayer throughout my entire day (and continuing the Lysa Terkeurst bible study & enjoying Joyce Meyer podcasts on my walks!)
  • daily exercise (a mix of running, strength training, biking, walking & yoga) which means staying healthy and injury free & meeting my goal weight by July 1st!
  • ease up on the coffee & drink more green tea and water
  • try new smoothie recipes for breakfast every morning
  • continue to eat Paleo (with the occasional non-Paleo meal or treat)
  • complete something on my project list each day - even if it's only 15 minutes!
  • enjoy every moment of life and be open to opportunities that come my way

WORKOUT

I got to run this morning! I did an easy 4.16 miles with Anna and felt pretty good. I'm still not 100%, but it sure was nice to be running. I'm so thankful for every single step! And it was really nice this morning too...44 degrees and we beat the rain. So today has started off on the right foot! The Blizzards are behind me now and I'm focused and ready to get to work.

YESTERDAY

I did a little meal prep when I got home yesterday. I roasted all my veggies for my salads this week while I was roasting the sweet potatoes for dinner. I normally don't use baby carrots, but I couldn't pass them up for 59 cents for a 1 pound bag this week!

You'll also notice I'm nicely stocked on all my fruits and veggies for the week too! Healthy food is so pretty. My body is definitely ready for some of this goodness!

DEVOTION

Pastor Lewis' sermon on Easter Sunday was titled "Who Am I?" I don't know about you, but I wonder that a lot. What's my purpose? Am I really doing what God wants me to do?  Why am I here?

The good news is we are not defined by what life does to us, what has been done to us by others, and we also aren't what we do.

Pastor Lewis said we have to stop evaluating ourself and others by what the world thinks! And you know what? He's RIGHT! We are living for Christ. No one else.

Ephesians 1:11-13 (The Message)
11 It's in Christ that we find out who we are and what we are living for. Long before we first heard of Christ and got our hopes up, he had his eye on us, had designs on us for glorious living, 12 part of the overall purpose he is working out in everything and everyone. 13 It's in Christ that you, once you heard the truth and believed it (this Message of your salvation), found yourselves home free - signed, sealed, and delivered by the Holy Spirit.

And my favorite!

2 Corinthians 5:17
17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!

So, goodbye old Jamie...it's time to surrender yourself and give God the control. So sit down, shut up and hang on!!!!!!
