FITNESS & FRIENDS

WORKOUT

Yesterday concluded with a 4 mile walk on the treadmill and then a training session with two of my favorite people...Theresa Burns and Cathy Beckham.

I know they love me, but for anyone listening in on our strength training session, that would be debatable. There were lots of angry words I won't repeat, but like I said...I know they love me! I think it was when the lunges and wall squats began that the girls started to turn on me, but in the end, they kicked butt and conquered! Love these girls! And note the pic above is post-workout and they're still smiling! :)

This morning, I completed round two of the PRS Fit Runner's Stability Workout that I did on Monday. This was quite a challenge since I was still sore from the first go-around, but like Theresa and Cathy, I conquered it. For those of you who don't know what a BOSU ball is, here it is in all it's glory...

The BOSU ball is a balance and stability tool (or torture device) depending on who you ask. My workout this morning was 3 sets of squats, lateral raises, overhead presses and bicep curls, all while balancing on the BOSU. Doesn't sound tough until you do it. Which is why I say that BOSU is a four letter word. :) And then of course all the lunges and wall sits and core work to finish off. A full hour of heart-pumping goodness.

DEVOTION

This morning's scripture is from Isaiah 30:15 & 16. I'm loving "The Message" bible, so here is that version...

15 "Your salvation requires you to turn back to me and stop your silly efforts to save yourselves. 16 Your strength will come from settling down in complete dependence on me. The very thing you've been unwilling to do."

Why is it so difficult for us to trust God? If you're like me, you try to fix everything yourself. When really that just ends up stressing you out and creating doubt and needless worry. So today let's focus on letting God do HIS thing. He has a great plan for all of us. Promise.

MEALS

Breakfast and snack are the same again today, however...I'm really excited about today's lunch! A group of us are getting together to celebrate Anna's birthday (which was yesterday) at 870 Bistro. I can't wait to chow down on the Grilled Salmon Salad. It is one of my favorite entrées and it's always so delicious. To keep it Paleo, I just ask for the salad without the bean salsa. YUMMY!

Dinner tonight: Salmon Cakes, Roasted Carrots & Sweet Potatoes, Salad

Note: If anyone is looking for an amazing flavored vinegar - I highly recommend the Raimondo Winery Cinnamon & Pear Vinegar. You can buy it at Truck Patch or online. It's a little pricey, but sooooo worth it. A lot of times, that's all I will drizzle on my salad (for just 15 calories a tablespoon, you can't go wrong). But it's also divine with olive oil for a flavor-filled vinaigrette. Check it out!

Thank you guys for reading! I've gotten a lot of positive feedback that makes me smile :) Leave me a comment if you have questions!
