PRIMAL BLUEPRINT

I am so excited about a new book I just ordered - I had to share with you! I discovered the book at Hastings, but didn't want to pay $29.99. So I scanned the barcode with my handy-dandy Amazon book finder and sure enough...Amazon had the exact same book for only $17.32 with free shipping!!! I immediately ordered it online.

This Paleo cookbook is awesome! It has one recipe per page with fabulous photographs. And all the recipes look delicious and simple. I wish I could've taken it home right then, but for a savings of over $13, I think I can wait a few more days!

All the recipes in the book are Paleo, Low Carb, Grain-Free, Dairy-Free and Gluten-Free!!!! Talk about the best of ALL worlds!
I'm so excited!!

And the author, Mark Sisson is one of the first to bring primal eating to us through his blog: MarksDailyApple.com. It's a great sight for information on the primal lifestyle.

DEVOTIONAL

Continuing my journey to NOT focus on pain, I read a verse this morning that lifted my spirits!

Romans 6:13
13Give yourselves to God ... surrender your whole being to him to be used for righteous purposes.

This is part two of what I talked about yesterday...finding the joy in your pain and allowing God to use you to relieve the pain of others. Ever notice when you take the focus off YOU, you begin to see the world around you like you never have before? You become more sympathetic towards others. You focus on their needs.

This verse teaches us that we should yield, submit, obey and surrender ourselves to God. According to Rick Warren, "By surrendering to God, we enter the heart of worship. This is true worship: brining pleasure to God as we give ourselves completely to Him."

WORKOUT UPDATE

I've had a lot of you ask if I am running or working out yet, and while the answer is still no, I will say that hopefully by Monday I will be able to start some sort of exercise routine again (even if it is just walking). My pulmonologist was optimistic that after 10 days of naproxen therapy I should be good to go - and that is April 1st. (Hope it's not a cruel April Fool's joke!)

Until then, I will try to remain positive and optimistic. :)

MEALS

Here's my delicious Paleo breakfast from yesterday...2 poached eggs, 1/2 avocado and 2 slices of nitrate free organic bacon. Heaven on a plate! And I'm having the same thing again today! :)

Lunch: Birthday lunch at Blackbird Cafe with a friend :)

Snack: cashews

Dinner: Leftover pork roast, baked sweet potatoes, salad

Stay Tuned: NEXT WEEK: ALL NEW SMOOTHIE RECIPES!!!! Hopefully a new one each day!
AND...a new challenge in calorie cycling (staggering my calories differently every day).
